My favorite thing about the Love School of Business is the community. Professor offices are located right next to student study and hangout spaces. It is not uncommon to see students engaging in conversations with professors ranging from the earnings results and current events to happenings in sports and life philosophies. The students Iââ¬â ¢ve met in the Love School of Business are some of my best friends and the faculty are some of my most valued mentors. You can always count on students and faculty from the Love School of Business to be there for you. What is the biggest lesson you gained from studying business? The biggest lesson Iââ¬â¢ve learned from studying business is the importance of creativity. Business majors often get a reputation for being ââ¬Å"number crunchers,â⬠but Iââ¬â¢ve found that many of my peers in the Love School of Business differentiate themselves through their abilities to create unique solutions to complex problems. My business courses have taught me how to be a creative, adaptive, and resilient problem solver with an insatiable appetite for improvement. What advice would you give to a student looking to major in a business-related field? My advice to any student majoring in business is to speak with professionals in any industry that interests them. In my experience, most profess ionals are happy to share what their role entails, how they got there, and advice they might have for a student interested in a similar role. These conversations can help discern what roles you would be a good fit for, as well as give you a roadmap of how to get there.ââ¬Å"If I didnââ¬â¢t major in business, I would be majoring in or studyingâ⬠¦creative writing or journalism. My Grandpa most influenced my decision to pursue business. Seeing my Grandpa go through the process of creating a new product and working to bring it to market instilled an innate curiosity and interest that led me to pursue marketing as one of my majors.\Which academic, extracurricular or personal achievement are you most proud of? Iââ¬â¢m most proud of my involvement as the Student Body Treasurer for the Student Government Association. In this r ole, Iââ¬â¢ve had the opportunity to manage and allocate ~$1.5m in Student Activity Fees. More meaningfully, Iââ¬â¢ve been able to work with some incredibly talented, smart student leaders who have come with well-thought-out goals and ideas that need funding. As a result, Iââ¬â¢ve been able to: partner with the Student Union Board to help put on the biggest Homecoming concert in University history; provide the financial backing for a student to create a version of the show ââ¬Å"Survivorâ⬠on-campus, and support the production of music videos showcasing Elon talent. While this role has been challenging, being able to give back to Elon, which has given me so much, has been the most rewarding thing Iââ¬â¢ve ever done.Which classmate do you admire? I most admire John Carroll, a senior Finance student. He has a tenacious work ethic and constantly works to improve himself and those around him through his leadership in various clubs on-campus. I know that Iââ¬â¢m a be tter student, professional, and person from being friends with John.Who would you most want to thank for your success? I can confidently say I wouldnââ¬â¢t be where I am today without my Dad. He is the most dependable and trusted role-model, adviser, and best friend that one could have. Max, a fellow in the Elon Honors program, exemplifies what it means to be an intellectually curious, committed, and an overall excellent student. In the classroom, Max was not only a top pe rforming student but was always willing to help and go out of his way to support his fellow classmates. As a sophomore in a senior-level course, Max shined in grasping the ideas and quickly became a mentor to other students. His dedication was noticed by one of the Chandler Family Professional Sales Center corporate partners, who offered him a position in their highly reputable internship program between his sophomore and junior year, an exception that was made as this organization usually only admits third-year students into their internship program. This professional experience served as the impetus for his honors undergraduate research project, one that has the potential to have important managerial implications. Beyond the classroom and his research, Max has been heavily involved with student government and has always been available to support his fellow classmates with any challenges. Upon graduation, Max has a lucrative position at Goldman Sachs lined up, which I am confident he will excel in. Overall, Max is a great person to be around who has the ability, competence, dedication, and hard work that is necessary to succeed in any organization and in life.â⬠Dr. Nawar Chaker Assistant Professor of Marketingà Page 1 of 11

Ronald Reagan s Foreign Policy - 999 Words
Ronald Reagan was an actor and cowboy that must of the world didnââ¬â¢t take serious at first! But once he took the oath of office; he would get the worldââ¬â¢s attention. He enters into office with the United States in an economic and military mess. He would fix the economic mess by cutting taxes and jump starting the economy. The military would be fixed by his Doctrine. The Reagan Doctrine was an aggressive foreign policy from 1981-87 in his first term as President he designed a plan to roll back Communism at its weakest points, and weaken the U.S.S.R by targeting the overthrow of its marginal allies in the non-industrialized World. Many pundits argue that it was a smashing success and dramatically undermined the power of the U.S.S.R, forcing it to retreat, and collapse by 1989. Reagan s foreign policy could be stated by his view of the U.S.S.R as the Evil Empire that is an illegitimate state. He rejected the dà ©tente policy that Richard Nixon, Gerald Ford and Jimmy Carter had pursued until 1979, when the U.S.S.R invaded Afghanistan proved its failure. Reagan long had opposed the containment strategy. Reagan instead proposed Rollback, a strategy to steadily reduce and eventually eliminate the Communist threat. In 1981 the newly elected Reagan rejected Henry Kissinger and other advocates of dà ©tente and brought in hard-liners, many of them previously associated with Democratic Senator Henry Jackson. Of Ambition Essay Example For Students
Of Ambition Essay Ambition is like choler; which is an humor that maketh men active, earnest, full of alacrity, and stirring, if it be not stopped. But if it be stopped, and cannot have his way, it becometh adust, and thereby malign and venomous. So ambitious men, if they find the way open for their rising, and still get forward, they are rather busy than dangerous; but if they be checked in their desires, they become secretly discontent, and look upon men and matters with an evil eye, and are best pleased, when things go backward; which is the worst property in a servant of a prince, or state. Therefore it is good for princes, if they use ambitious men, to handle it, so as they be still progressive and not retrograde; which, because it cannot be without inconvenience, it is good not to use such natures at all. For if they rise not with their service, they will take order, to make their service fall with them. But since we have said, it were good not to use men of ambitious natures, except it be upon necessity, it is fit we speak, in what cases they are of necessity. Good commanders in the wars must be taken, be they never so ambitious; for the use of their service, dispenseth with the rest; and to take a soldier without ambition, is to pull off his spurs. There is also great use of ambitious men, in being screens to princes in matters of danger and envy; for no man will take that part, except he be like a seeled dove, that mounts and mounts, because he cannot see about him. There is use also of ambitious men, in pulling down the greatness of any subject that over-tops; as Tiberius used Marco, in the pulling down of Sejanus. Since, therefore, they must be used in such cases, there resteth to speak, how they are to be bridled, that they may be less dangerous. There is less danger of them, if they be of mean birth, than if they be noble; and if they be rather harsh of nature, than gracious and popular: and if they be rather new raised, than grown cunning, and fortified, in their greatness. It is counted by some, a weakness in princes, to have favorites; but it is, of all others, the best remedy against ambitious great-ones. For when the way of pleasuring, and displeasuring, lieth by the favorite, it is impossible any other should be overgreat. Another means to curb them, is to balance them by others, as proud as they. But then there must be some middle counsellors, to keep things steady; for without that ballast, the ship will roll too much. At the least, a prince may animate and inure some meaner persons, to be as it were scourges, to ambitions men. As for the having of them obnoxious to ruin; if they be of fearful natures, it may do well; but if they be stout and daring, it may precipitate their designs, and prove dangerous. As for the pulling of them down, if the affairs require it, and that it may not be done with safety suddenly, the only way is the interchange, continually, of favors and disgraces; whereby they may not know what to expect, and be, as it were, in a wood. Of ambitions, it is less harmful, the ambition to prevail in great things, than that other, to appear in every thing; for that breeds confusion, and mars business. But yet it is less danger, to have an ambitious man stirring in business, than great in dependences. He that seeketh to be eminent amongst able men, hath a great task; but that is ever good for the public. .udeeb8eb803d6012887ef46b57720de26 , .udeeb8eb803d6012887ef46b57720de26 .postImageUrl , .udeeb8eb803d6012887ef46b57720de26 .centered-text-area { min-height: 80px; position: relative; } .udeeb8eb803d6012887ef46b57720de26 , .udeeb8eb803d6012887ef46b57720de26:hover , .udeeb8eb803d6012887ef46b57720de26:visited , .udeeb8eb803d6012887ef46b57720de26:active { border:0!important; } .udeeb8eb803d6012887ef46b57720de26 .clearfix:after { content: ""; display: table; clear: both; } .udeeb8eb803d6012887ef46b57720de26 { display: block; transition: background-color 250ms; webkit-transition: background-color 250ms; width: 100%; opacity: 1; transition: opacity 250ms; webkit-transition: opacity 250ms; background-color: #95A5A6; } .udeeb8eb803d6012887ef46b57720de26:active , .udeeb8eb803d6012887ef46b57720de26:hover { opacity: 1; transition: opacity 250ms; webkit-transition: opacity 250ms; background-color: #2C3E50; } .udeeb8eb803d6012887ef46b57720de26 .centered-text-area { width: 100%; position: relative ; } .udeeb8eb803d6012887ef46b57720de26 .ctaText { border-bottom: 0 solid #fff; color: #2980B9; font-size: 16px; font-weight: bold; margin: 0; padding: 0; text-decoration: underline; } .udeeb8eb803d6012887ef46b57720de26 .postTitle { color: #FFFFFF; font-size: 16px; font-weight: 600; margin: 0; padding: 0; width: 100%; } .udeeb8eb803d6012887ef46b57720de26 .ctaButton { background-color: #7F8C8D!important; color: #2980B9; border: none; border-radius: 3px; box-shadow: none; font-size: 14px; font-weight: bold; line-height: 26px; moz-border-radius: 3px; text-align: center; text-decoration: none; text-shadow: none; width: 80px; min-height: 80px; background: url(https://artscolumbia.org/wp-content/plugins/intelly-related-posts/assets/images/simple-arrow.png)no-repeat; position: absolute; right: 0; top: 0; } .udeeb8eb803d6012887ef46b57720de26:hover .ctaButton { background-color: #34495E!important; } .udeeb8eb803d6012887ef46b57720de26 .centered-text { display: table; height: 80px; padding-left : 18px; top: 0; } .udeeb8eb803d6012887ef46b57720de26 .udeeb8eb803d6012887ef46b57720de26-content { display: table-cell; margin: 0; padding: 0; padding-right: 108px; position: relative; vertical-align: middle; width: 100%; } .udeeb8eb803d6012887ef46b57720de26:after { content: ""; display: block; clear: both; } READ: The atomic bomb EssayBut he, that plots to be the only figure amongst ciphers, is the decay of a whole age. Honor hath three things in it: the vantage ground to do good; the approach to kings and principal persons; and the raising of a mans own fortunes. He that hath the best of these intentions, when he aspireth, is an honest man; and that prince, that can discern of these intentions in another that aspireth, is a wise prince. Generally, let princes and states choose such ministers, as are more sensible of duty than of rising; and such as love business rather upon conscience, than upon bravery, and let them discern a busy nature, from a willing mind.

According to the White House, this amendment was written to prevent Congress from passing laws that would restrict the freedom of speech. In fact, every person in the United States is protected by the First Amendment. One of the areas where you can find essays on the First Amendment is within your English composition class. The purpose of these essays is to give students some insight into what the First Amendment means and how it works in the society that we live in today. Thus, you will need to keep the essay concise. However, you want to get the point across to your students so there should be enough information to stimulate thought and discussion. For example, you could begin your essay topics on the First Amendment by asking students to write a poem related to the topic. This may include quotations from some of the great poets who wrote about the rights of speech. And, no, I'm not suggesting you write a lot of poetry, just a couple of paragraphs or lines to represent their thoughts. You can also use essay topics on the First Amendment to discuss different aspects of free speech codes. For example, if students are writing an essay on the 'Missed Connection,' they could then look at various types of regulation and compare the effects th ey have on their rights and free speech.Of course, the best way to proceed is to give them a wide variety of examples so they can explore the possible problems with our current laws.
